Show 103: Northern Hemisphere Vinyl Adventures and Dead 'Orse you never knew

Yeah, Awesome shit this week, Big thanks to Big Kev from Cockatoo for giving some assistance on my confusion of dead horse from the chippy of the yesteryear, remember the days of going into the local fish and chip shop and asking Nontas for some sauce on ya chips and he just sprays this thin unviscous red secret sauce with a tangy sweetness that could never be repeated out of a bottle from a shop anywhere, As a kid i always thought the dodgy greek barsted was watering down his tomato sauce like it was some sort of commodity or fossil fuel or something, but little did i n ow he was putting secret extra awesome effort into serving his chips with sauce, his own special sauce, yes i was informed by Kev that they used to get the vinegar from the pickled onion Jar and whack a bit in their squeezy sauce bottle to make it super tasty, nice and awesome. wow , i never knew that, and i wonder if it just crazy ol silver tongue Kev from cockatoo feeding me some cock and bull story to see how far he can fool pilot the dune, and if so congratulations because i love it and i reckon its the best shit ever. but sounds about right anywya, and seriously think about it, we have gone from the 70's and 80's where that shit was done as common place and it was almost something you would rate the chippy on as much as the fish and greasy's themselves. ANd what have you got these days you fools.... you get to pay 30cents for a pissy little squeezy plastic 20ml's of sauce from some shitty concentrate from a massive manufacturer like masterfoods or rosella or whatever and wheres the love i ask you, where's Nontas spooning in a wee dram of vinegar from the pickled onion jar into the sauce bottle, yep those days are gone and i can't see much effort to bring back the fabled sauce of those great years, that sweet sweet tang will be sorely missed, damn that shit was good..... hmmm maybe its what bob dylan was singing about with the times a changing, dead horse has never been the same....

That happenned early on and i was kinda too mindblown to get much tunage organised so gave you a bit of a varied dose of the best and coolest from different northern Hemisphere countries, before bringing the mood back to something more palatable for our standard 3mdr listener, anywya wasn't a bad show , a bit of fun and being solo wasnt as bad as the l;ast few weeks, maybe i can get into keeping this show on the road, or the desert for that matter.

Show 102: Dulcet Tones, Stones and Sleep

Wow what a show. I kinda had it organised in terms of what i wanted to play but not in what order, so we jumped genres like galaxies of riffs at Hendrix's fingertips, but it was and felt a lot easier to do as a solo presenter with a bit of organisation.... maybe i can groove on nit and stick around, but we'll wait and see, hopefully Pilot The Dune Will Be Back Next Week.... capitals, what the fuck is that about? yeah, kinda like a sub heading on a movie poster or something, poignant but not that relevant to much.

Heres the below list of tunes played tonight, a fair bit of aussie to start with and then a world of American and English tunes both old from yesteryear and not so recent...

But the exciting record tonight was the arrival of Sleep's Dopesmoker re release re mastered and re presented, so played a bonus track off that one which wasn't the best recording, but pretty damn cool to hear and wish you were there in the moment thats for sure.

so cheers dudes, and go slap someone in the face, they probably deserve it.

Yep First week of July, you know what that means a vinyl Luncheon celebration of whats to come this weekend.... hopefully, though we are all a bit older and have other priorities these days, but theres always time for gettting drunk and listening to records.

Started off with a tribute to our man down, our man down in new york, frank, whose birthday it is this week 31 years old!, we gave some crazy progressive noise rock Laddio Bolocko. but then i just went nuts with records and confusion and sleeves floating everywhere, brought in two boxes of records thinking i'd have a crazy ball, but then started playing ten minute tracks and that kinda eats into your two hour slot a bit.

but no worries was fun and hopefully we can get trisbangers back next week!!

Show 100: A Celebration...

yeah it coulda been a celebration but instead, tristan got sick and i your sometime host cozza had just come from a wake so wasn't exactly prep'd and ready to go nuts, but i did have a batch of $6.66 vinyl deals from all thats heavy arrive just in time so i turned up with some fresh new tunes from my library.

But as it was a special significant number in pilot the dunes growth i decided to start with a good excuse to play the full version of slo burn's pilot the dune... more honestly just because i couldn't find our show edited version and i wanted to just buy some time..... following my morbid wakeful emotions from the evenings earlier events i gave a classic dose of Revverrend Bizzarre and then on into a band that sounds like a John Woo film, Daggers Mid Flight, a new melbourne outfit combining the wrecking traders and spider goat canyon ( http://daggersmidflight.bandcamp.com/album/leap-of-fangorn ), which certainly looks to be giving something special to the ever evolving melbourne music scene.

Finishing the Night with an hour of Sleep was something that had been spoken of but never achieved here at pilolt the dune radio, so figured our 100th Show was excuse enough, plus i wanted to get out early and hit the pub, so it was a win win situation for listener and presenter alike.

anyway, the full playlist will be up shortly when i find that piece of paper.....

cheers coz
